Green Beverly is a non-profit working to lower the carbon footprint of Beverly residents and businesses by providing services, running community programs, and facilitating knowledge sharing.

Workshops
Our Coaches offer workshops throughout the year to share their knowledge with the community. Recent topics have covered sustainable gardening, composting, solar panels and home heating.

Food Diversion/Rescue
Together with local supermarkets, farms, gardens, restaurants, nonprofit agencies, distribution centers, and local churches we are diverting excess edible food from the waste stream to food-insecure populations in an efficient and organized manner.
We rescue approximately 1200 pounds of food each week that goes to help 300 people.

North Shore Urban Agriculture
The North Shore Farm & Food Coalition (NSFFC)
In collaboration with area farms, higher educational institutions, nonprofit agencies, distribution centers, and off-takers, we are creating a comprehensive plan to dramatically increase the amount of food grown locally year-round.
Focusing on Lynn, Salem, Beverly, Danvers & Peabody with 14+ participating partners. Supported by a grant from the USDA.

Green Take-Out
Working with local restaurants and compostable container suppliers to transition to 100% compostable containers within our city’s dining sector.
10 restaurants participated in the Pilot Program sponsored by Black Earth.

GreenUp
Provides low-income families a subsidy on their electric bill when they upgrade to 100% renewable electricity.
In partnership with Beverly Housing Authority and The Y.

Multi-Family Energy Coaching
Coaching multi-family property owners and tenants to utilize financial incentives for upgrading the buildings to be more energy efficient.

Pollinator Gardens
Because 1 out of every 3 bites we eat are made possible by pollinators, we’re strengthening the local pollinator habitat by: providing pollinator kits to residents; planting pollinator demonstration gardens in public parks; and developing a pollinator network map.

Pumpkin Smash
Sunday, November 4, 2024
12:00 PM 3:00 PMThe Sunday after Halloween, join Green Beverly and New Entry Sustainable Farming Project as we raise awareness around the importance of composting by hurling spent pumpkins into a giant compost pile with a trebuchet. Yeah, a trebuchet!
30k lbs waste & 40+ tons of CO2 diverted last year alone! Join the party of 2,000+ neighbors for another ‘smashing’ time.
Enjoy local snacks and brews, lawn games, live music, and a chance to connect with local orgs.
